Band photos on train tracks!

You know how I know your band sucks? Because you took your band photo on the railroad tracks.
Sure, you tried staring right at the camera with that “What, I don’t fucking care about this stupid photo” look. When that failed you looked away from the camera and off into the distance with that “What, I don’t fucking care about this stupid photo” look, but that made you look like you cared even more. Damn it!
My advice for your band photo? Take a photo of your shit band selling your shit equipment to a pawn shop, then photograph yourself applying for a job at Circuit City. Then a few photos of you realizing Circuit City has been out of business for a year and you just applied for a job at a vacant building. You idiot.
Feast your eyes on the gallery of failure!

The only person photographed on train tracks that didn’t suck was Johnny Cash. Everyone else is a poor imitation.
The Clash.
they may as well just go pose in front of the Olive Garden.
*witty banter*
You ain’t kidding. There are even some good bands who have done this. Fortunately, most of those bands did it when the railroad photo thing wasn’t so overdone. Rachel’s right–at this point just stand in front of McDonalds, emo poseurs.
Yes, Johnny Cash is free to do whatever the fuck he wants. THE CLASH! FUCK, I forgot about Combat Rock! They have ruined my entire theory!
An entire photo gallery of the same bad idea, excellent work. This would make a great coffee table book.
Its hard enough to look at these fools, I can’t imagine how bad it would be to stuck in a bar on a tuesday or sunday night and actually hear them.
So little original photo ideas, so many photoshop filters.
Naked Raygun, back cover of All Rise: railroad tracks. You even think of talking shit about NR and we’ll have an issue, Listy.
R.E.M. Murmur – The whole damn back cover is a railroad trestle
Ken – Now what kind of a crazy person would have an issue with Naked Raygun? What kind of a monster do you think I am?!?
Going from memory, R.E.M. is not actually posing on the tracks, so they are in the clear.
Ken – Also, what about Rational Actors? I seem to remember some track action.
I was gonna mention Rational Actors but no one knows them but you, me and Jeff. But we did kind of suck.
what if you’re arlo guthrie?
Arlo Guthrie is allowed to live on the tracks but not be photographed on them.
I recall a shot of cream seated on railroad tracks but I don’t think it made an album cover (so I don’t know if this counts)…
But I did write ‘shot of cream’.
Not every one of these photos were the cover or even back of the albums, just y’know, publicity.
This style goes back to at least the 1960s;The original Allman Brothers did one.
So that’s,what, four good known acts – Cash,the Clash,Cream,Allmans?
I will only allow the Clash and Johnny Cash but that’s it!
This is an awesome post, but it would be more awesome if the photos weren’t imprisoned in that little pop up app.

The artwork for Canadian hip hop group, Eternia & Moss’ At Last was shot on railroad tracks as well but the album actually is very good.
