Frank Gehry and his piece of shit, ugly ass buildings!
I haven’t even finished typing this sentence and already my blood is boiling from having to look at this ass clown’s shitty building. I mean look at this crooked hunk of crap he designed for The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Is he blind but nobody wants to hurt his feelings? Maybe he’s like that kid from The Twilight Zone who can turn you into a donkey or a house plant with his mind if you make him mad or disagree with him. Or maybe he’s like a drunk frat boy who wakes up after a weekend of beer-bonging and realizes “Shit dude, I totally have a building design due today!”
The best part about this building? M.I.T. had to sue Frank Gehry because this tangled mess leaks and generally sucks ass. It literally says “sucks ass” in the lawsuit!
Don’t try and tell me he’s breaking new ground and pushing the envelope because you are wrong. Frank Gehry is concerned with one thing, Frank Gehry’s checkbook. He knows he can literally take a dump on a table and some stupid mayor who is afraid of looking uncool will agree to spend $500 million to build a turd-shaped building. Have you ever seen the back of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion and Bandshell in Chicago? If you think the front is ugly, which it is, take a look at the back sometime and you will see a perfect illustration of how fucking lazy this jerk is.

Regardless of style, all great architecture manifests a simple, harmonious geometry and sublime play of proportion (based, for example, on the classical Golden Section). Frank Gehry, on the other hand, composes with the instinct of a sculptor/decorator. He piles things on a model until he is satisfied with the effect, rather like a crow decorating its nest with bits of aluminum foil and other shiny junk. Scaled up and built, the structure demands attention because it alienates everything around it, rather like a drunk at a stadium. Bluster does not equal significance, however, and may in fact only serve to distract from underlying weaknesses.
With the next change of fashion, perhaps Gehry’s work will be recognized for what it is: decadent architecture. Then compared to talents like Palladio, Sir Christopher Wren, Frank Lloyd Wright or Louis I. Kahn, Gehry will indeed be seen to suck ass.
Person of Interest, Very nicely stated. I would have to say that we need not wait for history to expose Gehry’s suck-ass-itude, the writing is already on the wall, the ugly metal curvy wall.
If you lay a turd in the punchbowl, the turd will get attention. Gehry lays that turd out in public and soils any neighborhood he lays siege to, demanding that you notice his bowel movement. Most people recognize his buildings as the pieces of shit that they are. It’s just too bad that you can’t pull the flush lever.

I moved out of NYC just because his ugly ass AIC building was making me puke every time I passed by it… and its on the fucking west highway!!! it was a nightmare… and the gugenheim NYC ( not bilbao of course eeeew) , which is only fabulousnes and proportion is hidden somewhere in the city…. OMG americans have no taste!

I like Frank Gehry. If you even had the decency to actually gain knowledge of him and his works you probably wouldnt be such as fuck ass bastard. And you can maybe, with even the smallest resemblance of decency, thoughtfully disagree with his works. There is a lot more too them than you think. His concepts are beautifully articulated and though these buildings are crazy and wild, they are probably the most thought out, intentional and functional buildings there are. So it would seem that you are the fuck turd for the inability to learn about the world.

Actually, the best part of the Pritzker Pavilion are the structural components at the back. You’re spot on about Gehry and his checkbook though – he hires and fires his poorly paid minions like they were the tide. Sirenty’s probably that asshole whose dad is still supporting him so he can take the jobs of three people who really need the money.
Maybe you should watch ‘Sketches by Frank Gehry’. You can see that a lot of time and effort is spent on each design, he doesn’t just throw stuff together.
